I smell Charring not Burning

I love this classic approach of magic between two old rivals. When I post my own deck I’ll explain why, but for now lets have a look at this ..um .. nice.. red deck?
Let me explain my hesitation, I feel that the deck that Danny has created almost feels slightly off. It looks like a pure red deck and it will most likely act like a red deck, but for some reason when I look at that deck list I don’t feel threatened. And that to me indicates that the combo is not right.
For instance I would not have used Koth what so ever. I cannot deny that he is a really good planeswalker but for all intensive purposes, in a red burn deck like this, I would think that the new Chandra would be way more efficient and terrifying. Maybe that’s just me or maybe it’s personal preference but red is supposed to flow like a stream of hot lava, burning everything in its path.
Which brings me to the number of burn spells he has. I would have put more in and focused more on the burn than the creatures. Again this is personal preference but I believe that he should try to be killing me by turn 4 or 5 and it just feels a wee bit too slow.
This is still a very good deck, it gave me that initial shiver but for some reason it almost feels as if he hasn’t chosen the best combo possible and will give blue an edge. That will be his downfall for the blue, while it is not as aggressive, does not stand for weakness and will quickly eliminate it. I’ll see you all later when I put up my own deck list, until then C’ya.

Nice post, not surely appreciated the power of koths second ability, a moutain for each mountain I control, crazy when considering hellrider and early game creatures followed by a shrine of burning rage turn 4 win easy.
